Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
Overall accounting works of OUP MLC, including works of cashier, 1st round of payment application and supporting documents check, present accounting policy and process to new staff in ordination, GL keeping, PRC report generating, weekly & monthly cash flow reporting and bank reconciliation, documents and data preparation for internal and external auditing, monthly statistical report for China government.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RELATIONSHIPS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Review expense claim forms & payment request, handle cash receipts and payments, ensure the compliance with accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Check and verify employee expenses claims in HAPPAY (Expenses Management System), and data transfer from HAPPAY to Kingdee.
  • Review accounting booking & Kingdee reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and global guidelines.
  • Manage activities of month- and year-end close including accruals, revenue recognition, and various post-closing reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow forecast every month to OUP MLC Finance team to fulfill proper treasury management purpose.
  • Prepare documents and reports to OUP MLC Finance team for group internal charge monthly.
  • Administrate and prepare all PRC tax filings and annual inspection.
  • Manage internal or external audit request.
  • Support all aspects of cost and expense management.
  • Work with Kingdee and IT team to ensure data integrity, set up and enhance reporting process, especially with system upgrading.
  • Participate in managing internal & external resource allocation and optimization to ensure maximized performance of the resource utilization.
  • Complete monthly reports required by governments, e.g. statistic bureau and SAFE.
  • Accountable for the good relationship with local authorities, tax bureaus, and banks.
  • Support leadership team on ad-hoc projects.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
 
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent with university degree in Accountancy and Finance.
  • Hands-on experience in accounting for multinationals.
  • Good level of commercial awareness.
  • Initiative and the ability to prioritise.
  • Good communicator.
  • Systems experience of MS Office (including advanced Excel), Kingdee, and preferably SAP.
  • A logical problem solver with strong numeric skills.

Job Title: Executive Consultant (Writer)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
To provide consultation on both the language and content of English language learning and teaching materials in book, audio-visual and/or electronic form, as a stand-alone item or part of a package, for the target market, and rewrite or write new materials, to the highest possible standards, as required by the target market.
To plan, design and implement publishing programmes in consultation with clients, identify and commission authors, and train and supervise subordinates to produce accurate ELT materials for the target market, in order to achieve high levels of profit for OUP MLC, while maintaining the highest possible publishing standards.

  • In discussion with Senior Consultant/Manager/Senior Manager and clients, new projects are identified, initiated, planned and developed at concept stage.

  • Market research is carried out in collaboration with clients and other departments.
  • Market reaction to backlist titles is monitored and analyzed.
  • Competitors’ materials are fully analyzed on regular basis.
  • Participate actively in school visits and teacher training programmes.

  • OUP MLC and its product lines are promoted both during and outside office hours at, for example, seminars, book exhibitions, conferences, and school visits.
